POPIA Notice

1. Purpose of This Notice

The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) establishes conditions for the lawful processing of personal information by public and private bodies. This notice explains the approach taken by G2 Equipment (Pty) Ltd, trading as G2E, when processing personal information in its business activities.

2. Responsible Party and Information Officer

G2 Equipment (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information processed for its website, enquiries, quotations, projects, sourcing, orders, supplier coordination and related administration.

POPIA requests may be addressed to the Information Officer at info@g2e.co.za. This website does not state that the Information Officer has been registered or that G2E has received a formal compliance certification.

3. Categories of Information

Depending on the relationship, G2E may process:

• Identity and contact information for customers, suppliers, contractors and professional contacts.
• Company, role, procurement, quotation, order, delivery and payment-administration information.
• Project communication, technical documents, site-access details and records needed to deliver an agreed service.
• Routine website-hosting and information-security records.

4. Lawful and Limited Processing

G2E aims to collect information for a specific, lawful business purpose and to use only information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for that purpose. Processing may be connected to a contract, a legal duty, consent, a legitimate business interest or another ground recognised by law.

Reasonable steps are taken to keep information accurate, limit access, protect confidentiality and retain records only for an appropriate period.

5. Data-Subject Requests

A person whose information is processed by G2E may, subject to POPIA and other applicable law:

• Ask whether G2E holds personal information about them.
• Request access to relevant personal information.
• Request correction or deletion of inaccurate information.
• Object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the applicable basis.
• Ask for information about the purpose and source of processing.

How to Submit a Request

Email info@g2e.co.za with your name, contact details, relationship to G2E, the right you wish to exercise and enough detail to identify the relevant records. G2E may request reasonable proof of identity before disclosing or changing personal information.

6. Concerns and Complaints

Please raise a concern with G2E first so that it can be investigated and addressed. A person who believes their personal information has been processed in breach of POPIA may also submit a complaint to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
